Our Gratitude this Memorial Day in the United States

Wrapping up a month-long discussion of service at TTEC, we take a few moments today to recognize the dedication and service so many have made to the United States. Memorial Day specifically honors the men and women who died in the line of duty while serving in the United States Armed Forces.

Reflection on this day is as personal and diverse as the stories shared among families that served. Here are some of those reflections and traditions that keep the spirit of Memorial Day present of mind:

“Memorial Day is a day to remember those who have given the ultimate sacrifice. My entire family served. Luckily, all retired and still here. We get together and enjoy the time we get together. A day to be thankful for the lives we get to live.”  - Casey M., Las Vegas  

“I love the tradition of taking my flag out and raising it early in the morning and share a moment of silence to reflect on all the heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice. We are also blessed here in Arizona to have the USS Arizona Memorial Gardens as a place to visit and learn about Pearl Harbor. My family and I will be there together on Memorial Day this year.” - Rebecca B., Phoenix

For some that served and survived, they carry the dedication to those that came before them with a passion to support fellow sisters and brothers in service. At TTEC, we empower that comradery in our 1,000 Veteran Pledge. On our recent LinkedIn Talent Show Powered by TTEC, we spoke with one of our many community partners that make that pledge possible daily. Alicia Dyson, Veteran Talent Specialist for their Career Development Initiative at US VETS – Las Vegas kindly shared her thoughts on service and how important it is to appreciate those that served.
