It's Time to Celebrate the Red, White, and Blue in the United States

Traditions abound when it comes to annual holidays like celebrating Independence Day on July 4th in the United States. It's also a time to thank our military heroes of past and present. It's also a time to recognize TTEC's own military families for the sacrifices they make for their families. On behalf of each of us, #TTECSalutes you.

Around America, people may mark the day by going to a parade (heck, they may even be in it!), others may watch fireworks together or head to a family get-together.

Here's just a few ways some TTECers are celebrating the red, white and blue this year:

”Always buy some fireworks (decent sized ones!) My favorite things to eat on the fourth are Kayem Brand Hot dogs with raw onion, mustard, ketchup, with a dill pickle slice (no relish). I also love drinking beers with my uncles and playing with my little cousins. In Chesterfield New Hampshire there is a boat water war that I always take part that is tons of fun.”

“I will say that for Fourth of July something can’t be missing from our dinner table are cherries and a blueberry pie!”

“For the last 15 years my family has hosted a 4th of July party at our lake house in the middle of nowhere Illinois. It has been so sweet to spend the 4th with my immediate family, extended family and all our family friends for so many years. Many of our neighbors in my hometown had houses on the lake as well which made for a week of festivities on the lake. One night of the week leading up to the fourth my neighborswould have all the family friends over for Mexican food. Then another night we would go to another neighbor's house for cheese and homemade bread. We also always had an annual game of wiffle ball, which has been notorious for a highly competitive atmosphere (haha). Then on the 4th everyone came to our house for pizza and a grill out. At night everyone would drive their boats to the middle of the lake and watch fireworks."

“Some past events we did that I enjoyed is kayaking, the St. Louis philharmonic orchestras usually has a free Fourth of July concert outside with fireworks and the food list changes every year."

From hot dogs to concerts, there's many amazing and fun ways to spend time  together. And for this blogger? I love eating my Mom's famous flag fruit tart - it's too pretty to eat, but we seem to get into it right away every year! And then we walk around the neighborhood and look at all the holiday decorations.
