'I Love Making Positive Impacts and Motivate People Around Me,' Shares Recent BUILD Graduate

Nicole is a recent BUILD graduate and recently was promoted into a team lead role.  We're so excited to share with you how Nicole grew her career with TTEC through BUILD, our talent development program that supports our high-potential associates, team leaders and managers with their development for their next role. With this program, high-potential team members are nominated and selected to be trained, mentored and prepared for the next challenge. TTEC is all about growing team members and providing opportunities to elevate your career.  

I had the opportunity to get to know Nicole more. She is an unassuming young lady who is always willing to assist. Her depth of knowledge on all the brands is unparalleled. She has worked on the social media and Live Chat accounts of almost all the brands in the United Kingdom. She is a hardworking, motivated and jolly good fellow. In this interview Nicole tells us all about herself, her motivations and goals.

Tell us a bit about yourself, Nicole?

I'm enjoying every next step since I graduated from university, 3 years ago. I also have two little nephews and one niece who I absolutely adore. They keep me very busy at home but do make me feel a lot older than I am (haha).  

You are a recent graduate of the BUILD programme. Could you tell us about your experience?  

It's been a great experience so far. The program is a mixture of classroom-based discussions and independent study time, along with being assigned to a mentor to help guide you along the way. It breaks down the many different aspects of a Team Leader role and helps you to understand what it takes to be a motivational leader of the future.

What is your advice for any member of the team hoping to get on the program?

If you want to get on the course, then go for it- don't give up! Speak to your training manager and they'll happily discuss the options with you.  

You are one of the few associates who has worked on all brands. Will you say this experience has positively impacted you?

It's had a positive impact. I love having the experience of working with all Brands, especially for social media and Live Chat. From a multi- Brand point of view, it really has given me a lot of knowledge and insight into the different tone-of-voice, requirements and customer demographics.  More importantly, I've really enjoyed getting to know the many people in the Teams across all Brands, and I'm always willing to help and support anyone who needs it while I'm here.

What is your favorite part of the job?

I like to motivate and help others as much as I can. Also, being in a large multi-branded Team especially when everyone gets on so well is lovely. There are many aspects of my job that I love, I like exploring new challenges and partaking in different projects or new tasks on a daily/ weekly basis.  I'd say the biggest thing is how helpful and supportive everyone on the team is... really makes a great working atmosphere.  

Aspiration wise, where do you see yourself in the next five years?

That's a hard one... all I know is that wherever I am in 5 years, I want to have made a positive impact and help motivate those around me.  I am ambitious and driven. I thrive on challenges and constantly set goals for myself, so I have something to strive towards. I am not comfortable with settling, and I'm always looking for an opportunity to do better and achieve greatness.

What motivates, and drives you in your work life?

My family drives me to do well. I'm also very competitive within myself as I feel that there is always someone better to learn from. So, I like to learn and motivate myself to be the best I can be.

Tell us about your hobbies, and interests outside of work. What do you get up to once the headset is hung up for the evening?  

Outside of work, I love to meet up with my mates to have a catch up and try to keep in contact with as many people as I can, especially during these strange old times. More recently, I have taken a hard step into fitness. I've joined a fitness boot camp which I go to 3 days a week, early in the morning before work. I also go to Zumba 2 days a week and swimming as much as I can. I also LOVE drawing and walking; I find it very therapeutic when I need some ME time and it's just fun to do. Other than that, camping! I'm very outdoorsy and always up for a little adventure. I do also watch Love Island too...

Where is your ideal holiday destination and why?

I've never been but I want to go to the Caribbean/ Maldives - the scenes there look beautiful!
