Dynamic Delivery Series: A Winner’s True Motivation In The Workplace

That’s why we love to celebrate the people who help make us great. One way we do this is with our Dynamic Delivery Recognition Program. It celebrates employees who deliver transformative customer experiences and smiles to our clients and team members every day.

All our employees across the globe can nominate colleagues who represent our values and consistently reach for amazing when delivering dynamic experiences. Our Dynamic Delivery committee scours these nominations and picks the winners every month.

Meet James Delavin from TTEC Philippines, one of our recent winners. A shining example of togetherness, passion for service, and drive for continuous learning at TTEC.

A grateful and humble winner

Despite his many achievements, in typical TTEC fashion he accepts this recognition with humility and grace:

“I really appreciate this award, being a Dynamic Delivery winner,” says James. “My dedication to innovation initiatives and continuous learning at TTEC for employees and leaders has earned me this recognition. But, I also know I didn’t achieve this alone.”

Community through and though

Teamwork and unity are staples in TTEC. The employee experience is just as important as the customer experience for us. So, we support each other’s success. If we lift each other up as a group, we can all reach our maximum potential.

“At TTEC, wins are shared. We help each other succeed,” says James. “Mentorship in particular has played a crucial role in my growth. My colleagues and leaders have guided me to find my best form.

I get support from seasoned leaders and have a dynamic exchange of ideas with teams, all instrumental to my development through different TTEC job opportunities. These collaborative relationships have helped me overcome obstacles and enhance my leadership capabilities.”

It’s this approach to contributing to the whole that really showcases why James is a Dynamic Delivery winner. He doesn’t pin his career fulfillment on individual achievements.

“I care about more than just personal rewards, incentives, or recognition. If I focus on just my own goals, I can easily get lost in individual motivation. By focusing on the success of colleagues and the company as a whole, I’m more able to grow.

As I help the organization thrive and achieve unified goals, we all win together. So, I’ve set my eyes on how to impact TTEC's operations and overall success. Focusing on team goals makes accomplishing individual goals much easier.”

Paying it forward

“I began my journey at TTEC as a customer service agent,” shares James, “and I always tried to be number one. But, the togetherness and support I experienced here showed me a new way of working. I learned that inspiring others is just as important as inspiring yourself to succeed.

As I progressed to roles such as Trainer and Team Lead, I helped associates maximize their performance. I gave as much continuous support as I could lend, the same thing my leaders and colleagues did for me before. We pay it forward here!”

Caring for, supporting, and maximizing each other’s potential is a way of life here, especially for leaders. James has prided himself in helping promote this togetherness with everyone – from agents to supervisors. Unity and motivation in the workplace – across all areas of the business, is important to him.

“Now, as Global Learning and Leadership Development Senior Trainer I focus on promoting a growth mindset within leaders and aspiring leaders. I aim to inspire leaders to radiate passion and influence associates to bring out the best in themselves.”

Maximizing his own potential

Reach For Amazing is one of TTEC’s biggest mantras. Go beyond what you think is possible. Innovate. Break barriers. Aim high.

While these all sound nice, actually executing these actions can be difficult and requires perseverance and a willingness to improve. James has demonstrated these amazing traits throughout his TTEC career.

“Growing and climbing the corporate ladder is never fully comfortable. Nothing goes perfectly. You have to be ready to receive feedback you don’t like. Be ready to be uncomfortable.

But, I don’t mind rebuilding myself repeatedly to achieve the best version of myself. I embrace different ideas and new feedback to continually improve and grow throughout my career. I love continuous learning at TTEC. And that attitude helps me build resilience and perseverance.”
